Illinois DUI Risk Education Classes: Illinois DUI Classes and DuPage County Risk Education are offered by The Birt Group on Saturday mornings. To complete the Illinois DUI Risk Education class, you must attend a minimum of ten (10) hours divided into at least four (4) sessions. We also provide private expedited DUI Risk Education Services Monday – Friday by appointment.

Our Illinois DUI Risk Education topics include:

  • Information on alcohol as a drug;
  • Physiological and pharmacological effects of alcohol and other drugs including their residual impairment on normal levels of driving performance;
  • Other drugs, legal and illegal, and their effects on driving when used separately and/or in combination with alcohol;
  • Substance abuse/dependence and the effect on individuals and families;
  • Blood alcohol concentration (BAC) level and its effect on driving performance;
  • Information about Illinois DUI laws and associated penalties;
  • A pre-test and post-test and clients must achieve a post-test score of not less than 75%.

Illinois DUI Treatment: Illinois DUI Treatment or Counseling at The Birt Group is based upon an Illinois DUI Evaluation and the classified risk levels: Minimal, Moderate, Significant, or High Risk.

Based upon the risk level, The Birt Group provides the following Illinois DUI Treatment/Counseling in DuPage County:

Intake

  • Clients are informed of program’s policies and procedure, fees, patient’s rights, and confidentiality laws. Client will also identify goals and objectives to be addressed during their Illinois DUI Treatment/Counseling.

Minimal Risk (Risk Education)

  • Required for Minimal, Moderate, & Significant Risk Levels
  • Must complete ten hours
  • Attend four consecutive classes on Saturday mornings
  • Will receive a Certificate of Completion upon completing ten hours

Moderate Risk Group

  • Minimal Risk Education (10 hours)
  • Completion of twelve hours of early intervention Illinois DUI Counseling

Significant Risk Group

  • Minimal Risk Education (10 hours)
  • Completion of twenty hours of outpatient Illinois DUI Counseling
  • Continuing Care for six months: Attend group once a month

High Risk Group

  • Completion of seventy-five hours of intensive outpatient Illinois DUI Counseling
  • Continuing Care for one year: Attend group twice a month

The Illinois DUI Risk Education & Illinois DUI Treatment program at The Birt Group is approved by the Illinois Department of Human Services, Division of Alcoholism and Substance Abuse as well as by the DuPage County and Cook County Courts. Our Illinois DUI Classes are also approved for any DUI arrest in any Illinois county, subject to County Local Court Rules.

The agency serves clients from Wheaton, Glen Ellyn, Naperville, Warrenville, Winfield, West Chicago, Chicago, Aurora, Carol Stream, Bloomingdale, Lombard, Elmhurst, Downers Grove, Schaumburg, and Oak Brook as well as other cities located in DuPage County, Cook County, Will County, Kane County, and Kendall County. We are licensed to provide Illinois DUI Risk Education and DUI Treatment for any Illinois DUI related offense.  We also provide services for Illinois residents that have obtained a DUI or drug related offense in another state, subject to the court’s approval.
